We strongly protest the attacks on CMS College in Kottayam
Kerala Government must act immediately to protect our college
A meeting of the members of the CSI Malayalam Congregation in Seaford New York was held after the worship service to express our concern regarding the ongoing attacks against our college and teachers in Kottayam.
Members of the CSI Malayalam Congregation of Greater New York strongly protest the recent attacks on CMS College Kottayam. We request the Kerala Government to take appropriate measures to protect the life and safety of the students and staff. This is an embarrassment to all Keralites. The CSI communityv is committed to providing the best educational opportunities to all students. regardless of their religion, caste or any oth This reputed institution has a long history of producing the best leaders in India including the former President of India, the late Mr. K. R. Narayanan.
Those who are responsible for the attacks must be brought to justice immediately. We also request the Minority Commission of India to take up this cause. Authorities in Kerala must act now and must act quickly to reimburse the College for the damages resulted from these attacks.
Vicar Rev. Nebu Skariah and Secretary Mr. Thomas T Oommen expressed their concern. It is a shame that this is happening in Kerala. People of Kerala must rise up to voice their protest. Government has the responsibility to stop the destruction of this reputed institution, this historical structure, the computers and the records of students etc. We declare solidarity with our fellow CSI believers in Kottayam.
A resolution was moved by Thomas T Oommen(Church secretary) which was adopted by the members of the church. This memorandum will be send to the authorities in the State and at the Center.
